On April 24th, a workshop titled “Good hygiene practices in commercial fishing at sea using surrounding floating nets” was held in the premises of the fishing port of Brižine. The workshop was opened by senior expert advisor Tihana Šundov and the education was conducted by Valentina Andrić, the head of Advisory support service in fisheries.
The aim of the workshop was to educate fishermen´s on the importance of hygiene standards in using surrounding floating nets for commercial fishing and to provide them with specific guidelines and tools to continuously monitor and improve their practices.
Educational materials were distributed during the workshop. They are designed to be practical and customized for specific needs of fishermen´s.
We hope that educational workshops will become regular and continuous support will be provided to fishermen´s in improving their practices.
